Naomi Price, Ph.D.
Founder | Scholar | Grief Educator

Naomi is a grief educator, scholar of religion and philosophy, and the visionary behind ABCs of Wellness and Luma Via Retreat Sanctuary. With over twenty years of teaching experience in death, dying, and the human condition, she brings a rare blend of academic depth, spiritual insight, and embodied wisdom to her work.

Her lifelong study of grief, consciousness, and human healing led her to develop Living Grief Theory™, an integrative model that understands grief as a living ecology—somatic, relational, ancestral, cognitive, and nondual. Rooted in five core currents—somatic awareness, parts-based inquiry, cognitive-mapping, nondual presence, and relational ecology—her framework offers a groundbreaking way to understand, honor, and navigate loss.

Naomi’s work is shaped by personal history, resilience, and a profound respect for the intelligence of grief. She has guided many through embodied grief practices—students, caregivers, clinicians, trauma survivors, veterans, widows, and individuals facing profound life transitions.

She founded ABCs of Wellness, a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit, to make grief literacy and holistic healing accessible to all. Through scholarships, community outreach, education, and training, ABCs of Wellness brings somatic and grief-informed support to underserved populations including shelters, schools, veterans’ programs, and caregivers.

Naomi also leads immersive grief retreats and certification programs at Luma Via Retreat Sanctuary, where her teaching brings together embodiment, mindfulness, neuroscience, and cross-cultural wisdom traditions.

Grounded, compassionate, and deeply present, her work invites people into a new relationship with grief—not as pathology, but as an enduring expression of love, memory, and meaning.

Your contribution supports those who feel called to transform their experiences of loss into service for others — including, but not limited to, veterans, caregivers, educators, and community leaders who bring grief education and support to under-resourced communities.

ABCs of Wellness is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

All donations are tax-deductible and directly fund education programs that build a more grief-literate, compassionate world.

“I connected with a lot of my grief and trauma, and left feeling like I had powerful tools to heal and received a lot of messages that I needed.”
